The Roxburgh Quartet plays two gems from the rich heritage of music written for the string quartet by Haydn and Borodin.

As part of Midlothian Heritage Week, and in the most beautiful setting of Crichton Collegiate Church, the Roxburgh Quartet returns to play an afternoon concert of music by Haydn and Borodin.
The beautifully searching music of Haydn’s Quartet Opus 33 in B minor (the first of the quartets nicknamed the “Russian”) is followed by the undeniably Russian music of Alexander Borodin.  The generous and open hearted music of his second String Quartet smiles at us from across time and continents.
